Lombok calling! Pratama leads the pack onto home turf

11 October 2023

Another two showdowns await the 2023 Idemitsu Asia Talent Cup in Indonesia, with the home hero ahead on the way in

We’re two rounds in to the 2023 Idemitsu Asia Talent Cup and there’s already an emerging favourite for the crown: Veda Ega Pratama. The Indonesian rider has now won three races in a row, despite the return of 2022 runner up Shinya Ezawa, and he’ll be pushing to try and stamp even more authority on the standings on home turf at Mandalika.

Ezawa will be looking to hit back after losing out on his own home turf, and Amon Odaki, after a dramatic last lap crash when fighting for the second win in Japan, likewise. Riichi Takahira wants more after winning the first race of the year and then having a tougher round at Motegi, and fellow rookie Zen Mitani wants to bounce back after a run of podiums came to an end with a 0 in Race 2 in Japan.

Meanwhile, Ryota Ogiwara is looking for that first podium after some top finishes so far but not quite getting onto the rostrum, whereas Thai rider Jakkreephat Phuettisan just took that first podium and will want to continue the run. They’ll be joined by plenty more fast faces in the frontrunning group, too!

Don’t miss more awesome action on the Road to MotoGP™ as the Idemitsu Asian Talent Cup takes on Mandalika, with Race 1 at 16:10 (GMT+8) on Saturday before Race 2 at 9:45 on Sunday!
